Senior Wellness Program
Program Introduction:
Since
its establishment in 2002, the Tzu Chi Community Clinic (formerly known as Free
Clinic) has been committed to providing medical services and compassionate care
to underserved communities. In
2025, the clinic expanded and introduced HUR
rehab and functional training equipment from Finland, along with a team of
professional physiotherapists. Together, we launched the Senior Wellness
Program, specifically designed for seniors in the community. This program
offers personalized and evidence-based exercise training, focusing on improving
mobility, strength, and overall quality of life for seniors.
Program Objectives:
Improve
functional abilities, strength, balance, and overall well-being.
- Rehabilitation and Functional Training:

For conditions such as stroke and Parkinson's disease, aimed at improving daily functioning and motor abilities.

For arthritis, post-surgical rehabilitation, etc., to help restore functional ability and muscle strength.

- Reduce risk of disability: The program aims to reduce the risk of falls, disability and dependence.
- Promote healthy exercise habits: Encouraging regular exercise fosters healthy aging and improves quality of life.
Target Participants:
Community seniors aged 60 and above, especially those who:

Experience muscle weakness or unsteady gait

Are in post-injury or post-surgery recovery (e.g., after joint replacement)

Wish to improve mobility, strength, and balance
Program Location:
Tzu Chi Community Clinic – Day Rehab Centre
Program Duration:
-
8
weeks (2 months), with 2 sessions per week, approximately 60 minutes per
session, for a total of 16 sessions.

Training sessions must be at least one day apart to
allow the body adequate time to rest.

Advance
online booking is required. If you wish to cancel, please do so at least one
day in advance to free up the slot for others. Same-day cancellations will be
counted as a completed session.

you are unable to attend a session, please inform us in advance of possible
make-up arrangements or to free the slot for others.
Weekly Training Time Slots:
Participants
may select from the following time slots (subject to availability)
Monday and Wednesday (6 sessions/day):
- Morning: 9:00–10:00am / 10:00–11:00am / 11:00am–12:00pm
- Afternoon: 1:30–2:30pm / 2:30–3:30pm / 3:30–4:30pm
Collection:
RM120 per participant

This is a non-profit senior health promotion
initiative. The collection covers the entire 8-week program and a personalized
RFID training record card (to be returned at the end).
- This nominal collection is a symbolic contribution to support the operation of the Tzu Chi Community Clinic. Participants facing financial difficulties are welcome to contact our volunteers for assistance.
- A total of 16 training sessions must be completed within two months. No refunds will be issued for incomplete sessions unless a valid reason, such as a documented health-related issue or another acceptable circumstance .
Waiver and Release of Liability for Senior Wellness Program:
- I confirm that I am in suitable health to participate in such activities. If I have any existing medical conditions (e.g., cardiovascular disease, post-surgery recovery), I will consult a physician and will inform the organizers accordingly.
- In the event of a medical emergency during the program, I authorize the organizers to contact my emergency contact person and arrange for appropriate medical assistance.
- I understand that any medical expenses incurred will be my responsibility or that of my family.
- I understand and agree that the Tzu Chi Foundation, its staff, and volunteers shall not be held responsible for any unforeseen incidents or health issues that may occur before, during, or after I participate in the program.

the program.

- To encourage social engagement and lifelong learning, we also recommend enrolling in the “Senior Enrichment Program” held twice monthly — enjoy learning and rebuild confidence together!
